Preview site terms and privacy
These notes describe this website and its billing preview as they are now, in the present tense. They are not the final public sales terms, which do not yet exist. Public purchases and application downloads are not open.
What this site is
A preview site for PDFCarry, a local Windows application in private preview. The interactive example runs entirely in your browser on prepared, synthetic data. The site cannot process a PDF.
What the front page collects
The product preview has no contact forms or application analytics and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images. Text typed into the interactive example stays in your browser tab and is discarded when you leave the page. The hosting provider may keep ordinary server request logs.
Billing preview in Stripe test mode
The separate billing page is connected to Stripe's test environment. Test checkout is being verified with Stripe test cards; it moves no real money and does not create a live product licence. Live sales stay switched off until the seller, tax and distribution facts are actually in place.
When you start checkout or restore access, the billing page sets one essential secure cookie that identifies your billing session in that browser for 30 days. It is not used for tracking. Restoring access with a billing recovery code replaces the earlier session, and the earlier cookie stops working.
The billing service keeps, in a hosted database: Stripe customer, subscription and checkout identifiers; subscription status, paid-term dates and cancellation flags; identifiers of processed Stripe events; and salted or hashed forms of the browser session, the licence key, the billing recovery code and the installation identifier that the application generates. It records when a lost-installation reset was last used. It does not receive PDFs, filenames, review notes, reviewer names or card numbers.
Payment records and Stripe event history are retained while the seller decides a retention policy; there is no automatic deletion yet. Rate limiting stores keyed hashes of network addresses in hourly buckets, and buckets older than 48 hours are removed during later requests.
Billing recovery uses the recovery code shown on the billing page, not an email address. No emails are sent and there is no email-based recovery. If both the browser session and the recovery code are lost, access to billing needs support, and the support channel is not yet published.
Stripe collects the payment and billing details entered on its own hosted pages under Stripe's privacy policy.
The application
The Windows application processes documents on your computer and keeps projects in a local data folder. A paid licence contacts the billing service to activate, to check the licence about once a day while the app is connected, and to deactivate. Those requests carry a licence key and a random installation identifier, never document data. The 14-day trial makes no network requests.
Sample files
The downloadable sample PDFs are generated test documents. They contain no customer content and no personal data. They are provided as they are, for evaluation.
Accuracy
Statements about what the application supports are taken from its current documentation and may change. The planned early-access offer on the front page is an intention, not an offer for sale.
Changes
If the site or the billing preview starts doing anything more than the above, this page will be updated first.
